The last at Gowran this afternoon, division two of the mares bumper, went to the Moses McCabe trained, Barry O'Neill ridden Vic Dancer

The 6yo daughter of Old Vic (second winner of the day for that sire after Vics Canvas attempted to make all and she kicked for home early in the home straight.

She then hung left as the 11/8 favourite Romantic Lead under Jane Mangan came out of the pack to chase her down.

Despite being headed close home Vic Dancer (12/1) battled back gamely and just prevailed by a short head from Romantic Lead in second.

The well backed (8/1 this morning and 9/2 into 7/2 on-course) Pat Fahey trained Overwater finished a further three and three parts of a length back in third under Patrick Mullins.

Moses McCabe, who last recorded success on the track in February 2011, said afterwards: "That was a long time coming. She is a tough mare and was just beaten a neck for third at Fairyhouse last time out.

"She will go for a maiden hurdle next and we will take it from there."
