Best Value sprang a 14/1 surprise in the Prison Love Play Limerick Racecourse 19th June Handicap Chase, scoring under Shane Crimin for TJ Nagle and owner Michael O'Regan.

The eight-year-old son of Helissio won at Wexford last July but he had been disappointing since.

He was pulled up in the race won by Up Sluggarh at Wexford last month and having opened at 10/1 on-course he drifted out to 14's at the off.

Settled in mid-division he took closer order from seven out and hit the front after the third last.

He was strongly pressed approaching the next but he kept on well under pressure and went on to win by two and a half lengths.

The well-backed 4/1 joint-favourite Diamond Dame (10/1 this morning and from 11/2 on-course) kept on well to take second under Brian Hayes for John 'Shark' Hanlon while Monelissio (10/1) was a further two lengths back in third under Andrew Lynch for Peter Casey.

Up Sluggarh was the other joint-favourite and he fell four out.

TJ Nagle said afterwards: "He needs quick ground and needs it as fast as possible.

"He jumps really well and will be kept on the go for the summer."
