It may be Joseph O'Brien's day at Navan but Andy Oliver laid claim for his share of column inches as the Tyrone handler completed a double with Stony Grey s success under Chris Hayes in division two of the Meath Handicap at Navan.

The Listowel winner, owned and bred by Monaghan man Pat Gilsenan, is a possible jumper of the future but he's a useful flat handicapper too and here the son of Winged Love beat the strong favourite Zip Wire (Johnny Murtagh had threatened to pull this out of the fire) by a length and a quarter.

Oliver had taken the opener with Shipyard and he commented of Stony Grey: "He's a big improving horse though I was a bit afraid that it mightn't be far enough (1m 2f) as he wants a trip.

"However, this is a great galloping track here and Chris gave him a good ride – keeping him in touch.

"The ground is lovely and hopefully there's still more to come." (AM & EM)
