Treble for Smullen and Weld
Galileo's Choice notched a treble for Dermot Weld and Pat Smullen when landing the Newgrange Race at Navan.
The gelding fought it out with 4/6 favourite Chief Lone Eagle for most of the straight, as the pair raced wide apart, and proved three-parts-of-a-length superior at the line.
"He's an improving horse and we might try and get a bit of black-type with him. He'll make a nice four-year-old," said Kris Weld. Ransomed Bride had struck for the pair in the previous contest while Sense Of Purpose had scored earlier in the day.
