The regally bred Tower Of London looks a name to note after making a winning debut in the Frank Conroy Irish EBF Maiden and complete a double for both Ryan Moore and Aidan O’Brien at Leopardstown.

The Galileo full-brother to six winners including Irish Derby and St Leger winner Capri was sent off the 7/4 favourite against five rivals in this mile event and was patiently ridden by Moore.

Chief market rival Fleetfoot raced quite keenly before striking the front about a furlong and a half from home before Tower Of London mounted his challenge on the outer.

Tower Of London quickened up nicely inside the final 150 yards and despite drifting sharply right in the closing stages still had two-and-three-quarter-lengths to spare over Fleetfoot. Magnetar also showed plenty of promise on debut another length back in third.

O’Brien said, “He’s a lovely horse and is still very babyish and green. He was working lovely.

“He didn’t know where he was so you would have to be delighted with him. Ryan sat in and taught him plenty.

“We won’t be in any panic with him and he’s a proper middle-distance horse for next year. He’s a Beresford horse and he was working like a horse that could go back to seven as he was showing plenty.

“We’ll see how he is and whether he’ll go for a Futurity or not. He’s a big, scopey horse.”
