Tinandali rounds off Navan card with a bang

It wasn’t difficult to see where Dermot Weld’s “I know there were only three runners but he was very impressive and he's a horse with a lot of talent,” came from after his Tinandali (4/5 favourite) ran away with the concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race at Navan.
The biggest winning margin on the programme and by some way was registered here as Tinandali routed the opposition in the small field heat by eleven lengths.
On easier ground the Aga Khan and Dermot Weld Oasis Dream colt bounced back from a Curragh disappointment on May 24th as he asserted from the front in the final quarter mile under Oisin Orr. Goddess disappointed again as Invasion Day came through for the silver medal close home without remotely troubling Tinandali.
“He did what I thought he'd do in the Gallinule,” further reflected Weld.
“He's a very talented colt and obviously he'll go back to stakes level now for his next race.
“I just wanted to see how he got on here today. We'll see how he comes out of it and then decide where he'll run next.
“We'll look for something over a mile or a mile-and-a-quarter. There are a number of possibilities there for him.
“He's a mile-and-a-quarter winner at Leopardstown so could easily go back to a mile-and-a-quarter.
“I thought the stiff mile at Navan would suit him very well and he'd attack the hill and come home really well.”
