Coolmore National Hunt sire Getaway supplied the first two home as Getabird beat Imperial Way in the concluding Fairyhouse Steel Supporting Meath GAA (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race.

Bringing up a double for Willie Mullins, after the earlier success of Airlie Beach the former Colin Bowe-trained point-to-point winner impressively strode clear from over a furlong out for a twelve length win.

Patrick Mullins' mount joined the Closutton team, to run for owner Susannah Ricci, for 200,000 Euros at the Goffs Sale in Punchestown last April.

Well-backed here at 8/11, the four-year-old's success prompted Willie Mullins to say: "He's by Getaway, a son of Monsun, and I think he's going to make a real nice sire.

"He showed me a little bit at home. He never showed me that but he showed me a little bit.

"We said we'd take a chance and run him here but I thought this was a very hot bumper. Two or three trainers had touted their horses and I know one or two had refused good money for them.

"Patrick thought he was going flat out but when he pulled him out for a bit of daylight he had to pull him back again as he had so much in the tank. When he let him go he just flew.

"He's a real nice horse and obviously a lot better than I had put him down as."
