The Snapper stayed on strongly under Gary Carroll to get up close home and complete a quick double for trainer Jack Davison in the Woods & Partners 10 Year Anniversary Handicap at Navan.
Making a quick reappearance here having finished down the field at Dundalk on Wednesday, the Dragon Pulse gelding appreciated the slower ground as he recorded the second win of his career.
Held up in mid division during the early stages of the race, Carroll moved closer over 2f out, mindful of getting a run up the favoured stands side.
Once hitting top gear over a furlong out, The Snapper made up ground quickly, eventually getting to leader Parting Glass inside the final 100 yards.
Enjoying the first double of his training career, Jack Davison said of The Snapper: “He’s a mudlark and seems to grow a leg on that ground. He has decent form on good ground but really comes into his own on that ground.
“They went a good gallop, the race set up nicely for him and Gary gave him a great ride.
“A stiff six on that ground or seven on the easy side of good is fine for him. We’ll go to Galway with him now hopefully.
“My dad (John) bred him and owns him along with my sister Emma. It’s nice when it’s a homebred.”
