Terzetto stepped up on her promising debut to take the fillies' maiden in Dundalk in good style.

Just under a month ago she kept on for second behind a very impressive winner at this venue and over the same trip of seven furlongs made no mistake today.

Colm O'Donoghue, in the Godolphin silks, made headway to get on terms over a furlong and a half out. She soon led and kept on strongly in the final furlong to win by three lengths at 100/30. Rionach (9/2) chased her home without threatening while Proud And Elated came in third at 25/1. Wishing Star the 5/4 favourite, was seven lengths off the winner in fourth.

Michael Halford said: "I was very happy with her. She had a lovely run here on her first run, it was hard to tell how good (it was) but the winner could be anything on the day.

"She's very straightforward and a very genuine filly. We were a bit worried about the draw today as she was parked out wide. Colm (O'Donoghue) just got a chance to fill her up before the turn in and she quickened up well.

"She has a big heart and she likes the surface so we'll see. We brought her here because she likes good ground, we have no reason not to try her on the grass.

"We'll see what the handicapper does with her now. She's a laid-back filly at home and she goes through the motions of everything we ask of her. When she comes to the races she comes alive. She's the ideal type."
