Teocht for Kevin Manning and Jim Bolger, got off the mark on the seventh time of asking as she took the last at Tipperary, the Family Fun Day Super Sunday Fillies Maiden.
The three-year-old daughter of Teofilo had some decent form to her name, but she finished a well-beaten fourth to Wandering Star on her last start at the Curragh.
Sent off a 4/1 chance, she raced mainly in second, hitting the front before the straight, keeping on well under pressure from there to score by two and a quarter lengths. A Star Is Born who was returned the 5/2 favourite (opened at 10/3 on-course), for Aidan and Joseph O’Brien, finished back in second, while Alkali was four and a quarter lengths back in third under Pat Smullen for Dermot Weld at 5/1.
Joseph O'Brien weighed out two pounds overweight, and then weighed-in a further pound overweight, meaning A Star Is Born carried a totally of three pounds overweight, 9-3.
Ger Flynn, travelling head lad for Jim Bolger, said afterwards: “She had a good run the last day. She stays well and Kevin was delighted with her.”
