The Jim Bolger trained Teochrios got off the mark on her twelfth career start as she took the last at Fairyhouse this evening, division two of the Bobbyjo Bistro Great Value Packages Handicap.
The four-year-old daughter of Teofilo never finished better than fourth before this evening and she was sent off 9/1 chance having opened on-course at 10’s.
Having raced prominently in the early stages she took up the running after around two furlongs and she never saw another rival from there.
She was ridden along by Kevin Manning over two furlongs out and she soon went a few lengths clear, keeping on well inside the final furlong to score by three parts of a length at the line. Hangar Five kept on well in the final furlong to take second at 16/1 under Danny Grant for Pat Flynn, while Byron Beauty (25/1) was a fast finishing third, just a nose back under Chris Hayes for Harry Rogers. Greatness went off the easy to back 9/4 favourite having opened at 15/8 on-course.
He never really looked like winning under Fran Berry for Tony Martin and he finished a disappointing seventh.
Bolger's assistant Ger Flynn said afterwards: "Kevin said that she handled the ground well and stayed at it well.
"I thought she ran well at Wexford the last day under young Daniel (Redmond) and she did it well from the front there tonight."
