Suedois opened his account for the season when taking an exciting renewal of the Clipper Logistics Boomerang Stakes at Leopardstown.
The David O'Meara-trained gelding had previously won six times but the latest of those, a Group 3 at Deauville, came over two years ago.
Danny Tudhope 's mount took a while to get a clear run in the straight but finished strongly inside the final furlong to beat True Valour by half a length. Psychedelic Funk was a further head away in third, while well-backed favourite Sir John Lavery didn't enjoy a clear passage in the straight but came home strongly to finish just another short-head away in fourth.
Tudhope said, “I took my time and tried to get there as late as possible. It worked out well. He’s a tough horse and tries.
“We changed the tactics and held him up to give him a chance. He came through good. He had been campaigned mostly over six furlongs but stepped up in trip on his last two runs and ran really well.
“There are more options at the trip and he won over seven furlongs in France. He did it well.”
