Ten of the sixteen managed to complete in the Kedrah House Stud 'Well Chosen' Beginners Chase with O'Ceallaigh under pressure in third when falling two out and the same fence claimed Scamaill Dubh who was making no impression in fourth at the time. In the end the one that proved best in the two and a half miler was 66/1 shot Stoughan Cross
Tom Gibney 's winner was always to the fore under 'Wango' Moore and he was in front when making a slight mistake at the second last.
Strongly pressed at the last Stoughan Cross fought off Roll It Out by three parts of a length.
J P McManus, owner of Roll It Out, also had the third and fourth home, Fairy Legal and Riviera Sun
"He was second on this day last year but I only got to run him once since on soft ground and my horses also got sick since," explained Gibney.
"He only had his first proper run a week and a half ago and I didn't expect to win today. As long as the weather stays wet, he might run again but we might struggle ground-wise."
D.J. Mullins, rider of Mells Theater trained by Colin Bowe, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost his action and was pulled up.
