Steps gets it right
Extra Steps gained an overdue win when claiming the second division of the mile handicap at Dundalk.
Paul Cashman 's filly has been a consistent sort without getting her head in front but made no mistake today.
Pat Smullen produced his mount to lead at the furlong pole and she stayed on strongly inside the final furlong to hold the late run of Funafuntasia by a length.
"She's very consistent and deserved that," said Smullen. "It's nice to ride a winner for Paul as I've known him for a long time."
The winner was well-backed on course from 13/2 into 5/1.
