Bellick recorded a sixth career win and bridged a losing run stretching back over two years when taking division one of the William Hill Racing Radio Apprentice Handicap at Dundalk.
The Mayson gelding, available at 10/1 this morning and sent off the 7/2 joint favourite, had gained all five previous wins over six furlongs including three at this venue but has been running well over seven furlongs and further this season.
Siobhan Rutledge did well to get her mount to the front from a very wide draw soon after the start and the John McConnell-trained seven-year-old kept on really well inside the final furlong to score by three quarters of a length. Lion Ring took the runner-up spot with Malaysian a head further back in third.
Rutledge said, "He's very consistent, he's a fun horse for connections. He's a yard stalwart at home, he's the quietest horse and anyone can ride him.
“He's been hitting the crossbar and I'm delighted that he's got a goal!”
