Spoils shared by Molly and Dinero
The judge couldn't split the first two home after a cracking finish to the Tote Handicap Hurdle at Bellewstown.
Three were in with a shout going to the last in the three-miler and it was Ahorsecalledmolly and Cerveza Dinero who eventually shared the spoils.
Cerveza Dinero had been well backed this morning (14/1 into 7/2) but was sent off a 7/1 shot after easing on track.
He fought it out with Drop Anchor from the second last and after getting the measure of that rival on the run-in had Ahorsecalledmolly (6/1) to contend with close home.
The pair flashed past the post locked together and a dead-heat was announced after an anxious wait.
Denis Hogan, trainer and jockey of Cerveza Dinero, said afterwards:- "He's hard work. I've had him since March and he takes a lot of work to get fit.
"The step up in trip and the shades made the difference today."
Andrew Lynch, trainer of Ahorsecalledmolly, was delighted the switch back to timber reaped dividends.
"It's great for him. He was second in this race last year. There are no real three-mile chases for him and that's why he ran here. There is a 3m1f for him at Kilbeggan in three weeks so he'll go there."
