Siege masters Casey opposition
Siegemaster got his second season over the larger obstacles underway in good style when he landed the feature event on the card, the Casey Enterprise Chase under Davy Russell.
The half-brother to Our Vic, led two out and he asserted into the straight, going on to easily account for Tasman by four and a half lengths.
Winning trainer, Dessie Hughes said: "It's nice to get that over with. We might go for a second season novice in Down Royal now."
The well-backed 8/11 favourite fell in the SunAlliance last season and he performed well when hitting a couple of fences at Aintree - he finished third to Killyglen there. He also won a Grade 2 three mile novice chase at Navan on heavy ground last February.
