The Parkview Provisions Handicap went the way of the Kevin Coleman-trained Benavente who came from off the pace to lead inside the final 100 yards under Joey Sheridan.

The Twilight Son gelding, backed from 11/1 into 17/2 before the off having been available at 25/1 earlier in the afternoon, stayed on well to beat Dance Night Andday by half a length.

Formerly with Richard O'Brien, the five-year-old was making his third start for Coleman and the Benavente Partnership having been claimed for 15,000 Euros here in July.

“(Journalist) Brian Sheerin bought him from Richard to go for the Racing League but he didn't get into any of the races,” said Coleman.

“We said we'd campaign him at Dundalk because he's done well here.

“I haven't improved him or anything, I think the race went well for him tonight. The day he was second in the claimer for Richard he probably should have won.

“When things go his way he'll finish strong and he's a grand horse at that level.

“Brian actually got married during the week so they are over in Rome watching it.

“Joey got him from 15 on to the rail, I don't know how he did that, when it works out it's great.

“It's been a while since I got a winner and I appreciate them all.”
