Sean Says followed-up on a good effort at Cork last month, as she claimed the Download The Boylesports App Handicap Hurdle.
Third of 19 behind Watch The Weather at Mallow, the Rodger Sweeney trained six-year-old still proved relatively easy to back this afternoon, going off a 10/1 chance under Donagh Meyler.
Settled behind the leaders, the Battle Of Marengo bay improved into a closer second with just under a circuit to race.
She made further progress to lead approaching the straight and battled on well when ridden before the last, going on to score by a length-and-three-quarters. Florey Spud (9/2f from 11/2) kept on well but ultimately had to settle for second under Denis O’Regan, while Our Bobby (5/1), who led for much of the contest, was another three-parts of a length back in third.
"She ran very well in Mallow," Sweeney commented.
"Phillip Enright said she could have got even closer in Cork had he given her a few slaps but there was no point because she wasn't going to win it. She would have been second.
"I knew she'd run well today and she will probably go for another hurdle now. We might go back on the Flat when she gets fed up of hurdles. It'll keep her head right.
"She has won over fences too and is a versatile little thing. She'll probably go for another two-and-a-half-mile race now."
