Screen Siren repeated last year's course and distance victory in the five furlong handicap at Cork.

She was back down to last year's winning mark of 71 which doubtless led to the support from 13/2 to 11/2.

Mikey Sheehy 's partner came with a run on the outer approaching the final furlong. She grabbed a narrow advantage with 150 yards to travel and held it all the way to the line.

She passed the post half a length up on Collective Power (13/2). Maggie Thunder was just a head back in third. Blind Beggar the 13/8 favourite, didn't have the clearest route but came home nicely in fourth, a short head out of the placings.

Trainer Sarah Lynam said: "That was great and I was hoping for a bit more ease but she was good there and really enjoys this place.

"It was a mares' race she won last year and if I could find another race here it would be great. I think it is a super sprint track and I wish they would use it a bit more often.

"It was close and there's no harm in a bit of competition but dad is probably giving out because I beat him!"
