Despite being sent off the complete outsider of the sextet, Scorchio proved too strong for five rivals when keeping on best to win the Follow Us On Social Media Handicap at Cork.
The Jack Davison trained filly had won twice at Dundalk as a juvenile but had yet to prove she was as effective on turf, after just the one placing in five starts.
Prominent throughout under James Ryan, the 28/1 chance headed Kendall Roy over a furlong out, keeping on strongly to prevail by a length at the line.
Winning trainer Davison said: "The whole family perform well on turf and she had been working well on turf so I couldn't see how she was so big in the market, but I was her friend anyway!
"The family are better on turf and Thunderbear (Group 3-winning half-brother) doesn't go on the all-weather but Scorchio does. I'm really happy with her and being her first run of the year, is entitled to sharpen up."
