The market for Dundalk's claimer revolved around two horses and it was Ger O'Leary's Satin Snake (6/4) who outgunned the favourite Form Of Praise
He was shaken up and ridden by Colin Keane to get the measure of front-running Artistic Rhythm at the furlong pole.
Form Of Praise (11/10f) angled out for a run behind him but could make no impression in the closing stages and went down by a length and a quarter. Artistic Rhythm was another half a length back in third at 80/1.
Assistant trainer Adrian Joyce said: "He's been disappointing, we thought we would have won with him before now.
“He just threw away a few races up here, little things didn't go right for him but he got the job done tonight and it's great.
“He's in for €20,000, if he gets claimed we have a win under his belt now and we'll let him off and wish the best of luck to anybody that takes him.
“Things are going well, roll on the grass.”
Form Of Praise was the subject of a friendly claim.
