Cadmium got revenge on Ornua in the Grade 3 Buck House Novice Chase, completing a cross-country and cross-codes double for his trainer Willie Mullins.

The Supreme Horse Racing Club owned victor couldn't cope with the front-running Ornua when they met at Roscommon earlier this month, but it was a different story this afternoon.

Ridden by Ruby Walsh, Cadmium raced just off the pace, with Ornua attempting to make all yet again.

The winner was ridden before two out and soon got on terms, gaining a marginal lead before the last, keeping on well from there to score by five lengths.

Ornua, who was returned the 13/8 favourite, had to settle for second under Dylan Robinson for Henry de Bromhead, while Cubomania (6/1) was another two lengths back in third.

"There is a fair chance that I'm blowing harder than the horse!" said Walsh.

"He did it well. It was hard to see how he would reverse the form with Ornua but I suppose a more galloping track, the two furlongs extra and the 3lb swung it in our favour today.

"That's twice he's won here. He's a novice for another six weeks so you'd imagine he'll come back here in a month's time for the Craddockstown all being well."

On his comeback, Walsh added: "I feel like coughing up half a lung at this minute in time but other than that we're all right.

"I should have been a bit cleverer in the next race as I think Ballycasey needs a bit of a miracle but the practice won't do me any harm anyway. The practice will do me the world of good."

Winning trainer Mullins was earlier on the mark at Bath with True Self in the Listed British Stallion Studs EBF Beckford Stakes.
