The Cheltenham Festival-winning Billaway colours of John Turner were carried to success by Recite A Prayer in the Download The BoyleSports App Novice Handicap Chase at Wexford.
The Willie Mullins-trained gelding was up with the pace throughout in this 2m4f event but Railway Hurricane held a slight advantage when jumping badly left at the last.
This handed the advantage back to Danny Muillins’ mount, and the 11/4 chance held off the renewed effort of that rival to score by half-a-length. Balinaboola Steel kept on well to finish just three-quarters-of-a-length away in third.
The field was reduced to just six runners, from an original maximum of 11, mainly due to the drying ground which was officially changed to good after the second race.
Danny Mullins said, “It was a good performance and two fast jumps at the last two fences probably sealed it for him.
“He just made one mistake all the way around. A mistake the last day might have been the difference of winning and losing where today he has learned from that.
“He’s progressing and it’s good to see him handle that nice ground. Hopefully there may be more to come during the summer.”
