Ill at ease on the track at Tramore last time Rapid Response enjoyed going the other way around to land the Play Lotto On The BoyleSports App Beginners Chase at Wexford.
Those that backed the 7/4 favourite never really had a moment’s worry as the Ann & Alan Potts Limited-owned and Jessica Harrington-trained Network mare accounted for Ozzie’s Way by nineteen lengths.
Winning rider Paddy Kennedy was understandably impressed and he reflected: “"We thought on paper that she was a steering job and the plan was just to ride her that way, keep it straightforward.
“She is a very smart filly and she is just starting to show it now. She is massive and chasing was always going to be her game. I'm sure Mrs Harrington will have a look now and see what is coming up for her.
"She never really jumped bad at Tramore. She is a very big filly and Tramore didn't suit her, she was just lugging out there.”
D. Meyler, rider of Ozzie's Way trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his saddle slipped slightly.
D.J. Hand, rider of The White Volcano trained by J. Woods, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung badly left in the straight.
