Dont Tell De Purty beat Dark Vagabond by half a length when winning his only previous race, at Punchestown in October 2011. He doubled his career tally when accounting for the same horse by a length and three parts in the Noel Hickey & Highway Safety Handicap Chase at Gowran.
Leading conditional rider Mark Enright did the steering on Dont Tell De Purty and he led after four out.
He kept them all at bay up the straight from the next.
Philip Enright lost his irons on Dark Vagabond at the last and try as he might he couldn't bridge the gap to Dont Tell De Purty on the run-in.
Aidan Howard trains Dont Tell De Purty and he said: "He jumps and he gallops and the better ground is the key to him."
Favourite here, Pigeon Creek made a mistake and unseated Paddy Kennedy at the first fence down the back straight. (TW & EM)
