Reverse Polarity upstaged the market principals as she made all in the Noel Ryan Tree Surgeon Maiden Hurdle.
Twice placed in bumpers, the Mark Fahey trained six-year-old finished sixth on her most recent start over flights at Downpatrick last month. Full Aux Rois (6/4f) and Cornerkova (13/8) dominated the betting for this extended two-mile contest, with the bay victor sent off a 5/1 chance under Richie Deegan.
Sent straight to the front, the daughter of Mustameet stretched clear from the second last and went to record an easy eight length win.
Cornerkova filled the runner-up spot under Mike O'Connor for Henry de Bromhead, while Full Aux Rois was another nine lengths back in third.
"The plan was to try and make all. She tried the same in a bumper here before and was just touched off. Richie rode her that day too," Fahey commented.
"Richie gave her a great ride and she will keep going as long as the ground stays good and she stays sound. She will probably go handicapping now.
"The lads that own her (the Gee Whizz Syndicate) deserve great credit because she picked up an injury at the end of last summer and they gave her the time and pursued with her. They are getting a reward for their patience now.
!They are all friends from the Castledermot area. They are a great bunch of people and I’m delighted for them."
