Plough Boy recorded his fourth win of the year, as he took the Indaver Ireland Handicap under Donagh O'Connor for Garvan Donnelly.

Twice successful at Dundalk, and also on the mark at Ayr, the now twelve time winner was last seen finishing ninth in the Rockingham at the Curragh on Saturday.

Turned out again quickly he was sent off a 4/1 chance and raced behind the leaders.

He came with his challenge on the inner over a furlong out, and soon got to the front, keeping on well under pressure in the closing stages to win by three lengths. Coto (9/2 to 7/2) finished second under Andrew Slattery for Matty Tynan, while the 13/8 favourite Abstraction was a head back in third.

"It's nice to get a local winner. I thought it might play into his hands with Abstraction going fast and he'd come home well," said Donnelly.

"He ran in the Curragh on Saturday and didn't disgrace himself in the Rockingham. He seemed to be fine all week so we let him take his chance.

"The lads are all local and it was a good pot.

"He's only getting the hang of sprinting now, it's takes a horse a while to get going. He pays his way and he's had a great season all year.

"We brought him to Ayr a couple of weeks ago because I thought the track would suit him and it was another good pot over there. He won there and as long as he keeps picking up money it makes my job easier.

"If he got a little bit of luck in one of the premier handicaps he might have his day in one of them but if he can pick up these ones here along the way it's happy days."
