The Good Enuf To Eat Maiden Hurdle was won by the 2/1 favourite (from 6/1 this morning) Wewillgowithplanb who made all the running in the hands of Ricky Doyle.

The Fame and Glory gelding, owned by Chris Jones, readily went clear from the second-last to account for Heronord (9/1) by five and a half lengths.

The winner was getting off the mark on his third start over hurdles, having finished eighth in a big field at Punchestown on his previous start at the end of May.

Winning trainer Gearoid O’Loughlin said: "He is a bit of a handful. He was actually bought for Chris's son Andrew to ride, but he is a little bit hot and it wouldn't be fair to him for his first ride.

"We said we would try and kick on and win a hurdle with him. He will go out now and is only a four-year-old so he will have to be a bit better behaved when he comes back in.

"He handles soft ground so we will bring him back for the winter. The race was what it was and all he could do was go out and win it.

"I'd say he did like being out in front. We had the hood on him but he was a lot sharper today with it off. Maybe that's the reason he didn't run too well the last day. We are happy to get his head in front."
