The well-backed front-runner Seanie gave it a good go under Connor King but he couldn't resist Indian Landing in the Dundalk Stadium – Light Up Your Night Handicap.
Wayne Lordan and Indian Landing's bid for glory in this seven furlong event, threatened to be scuppered by a lack of room on the rail as Seanie 'hemmed' him in.
However the successful Barathea chestnut, in the famous Herb Stanley livery, switched around Seanie from a furlong out and got there near the line for a head win. There weren't even four lengths separating the whole ten strong field at the finish.
Tracey Collins, the winning handler, stated: "My horses have been running well up here. We'd given him a little break (off since September) and Wayne gave him a really lovely ride.
"The other horse coming across may have helped him as it gave him something to aim at.
"He's versatile in that he needs soft ground on grass but he can come up here too.
"He's very gross but he doesn't take a lot of galloping." (AM & EM)
