On a day when their horses did them proud, it was fitting to see the Gigginstown House Stud colours pass the Ryanair hoarding in front, Patrick Mullins sporting the maroon and white livery on Lucky Pass in the bumper backed by the leading carrier at Leopardstown.
Bringing up a Leopardstown double for Willie Mullins, after Nichols Canyon s earlier win, odds-on shot Lucky Pass was also making it two on the day for Gigginstown after No More Heroes romp in the Grade 1 Neville Hotels.
The victorious French-bred chestnut is now three from three (a point and a Fairyhouse scorer already) and he hit the front two furlongs out before gaining the day by three and three parts of a length from First Figaro
"That fella loves that ground. He's a lazy horse and races very lazily. In my book that means he'll improve," said Mullins.
"I just hope he's not a slave to that ground. I don't know what he'll be like on better ground in the spring.
"He's done nothing wrong and I'd imagine automatically he'd have to go to Cheltenham but my worry would be once he comes off that soft to heavy ground would he be as effective."
Paddy Power go 16/1 first show Lucky Pass for the Champion Bumper.
