Co Wexford trained horses battled out the finish to the Bourn Vincent Memorial Mares Maiden Hurdle, with Golden Palm for Sean Doyle just getting the better of the Myles Sunderland trained Andreas Pride

The successful seven-year-old daughter of Broadway Flyer won a point-to-point on her debut at Horse And Jockey in March of 2012 but she failed to follow up on four more efforts 'between the flags'.

She made her racecourse debut at Bellewstown recently, finishing a decent fourth to Golden Wonder and she was backed on-course today from an opening show of 7/1 to 5s.

Ridden by Barry Geraghty, she had a great battled with the Mark Walsh ridden Andreas Pride (10/1) in the home straight, getting on top on the run-in, and going on to score by a length. Faustina Pius finished three and three parts of a length back in third under Brian Hayes for John Queally, while the 3/1 favourite, Stay In My Heart could only manage a disappointing sixth.

Sean Doyle said afterwards: "She had a lovely run at Bellewstown. She just missed a few hurdles and was hampered a bit.

"I was afraid this was coming a bit too soon but we said we’d take our chance. Barry gave her a great ride.

"That is my fifth track winner, I mainly trained point-to-pointer’s and I have my license two years."
