Only Mine justified strong support when landing the Dubai Duty Free Jumeirah Creekside Dash Stakes at the Curragh.

The four-year-old filly was available at 7/4 when betting opened on the race but was no bigger than 5/4 on track and sent off the evens favourite for this Listed race.

The Joe Murphy-trained daughter of Pour Moi made all under Gary Carroll but needed to be kept right up to her work to hold off the challenge of the veteran Gordon Lord Byron

A neck separated the pair at the line, with Peticoatgovernment a further length and a quarter back in third.

Murphy said, “She is a very genuine and honest filly, and we will up her in grade a bit now. There is a Group 3 at Naas over six furlongs in a month’s time, and we will enter her in the Haydock Sprint Cup which she ran in last year. It closes this week.

“It’s great to have the owners over to see her run today. You would have to give Gordon Lord Byron a lot of credit, and when he is in opposition you would always be afraid of him. The weight we received was a big help.

“She is building up a good page of Group and Listed races.”

Carroll said, “She's a very game filly and deserved that after just getting beat the last day. The ground was way too slow for her the last day, she hated it and she ran a very good race.

“She enjoyed that ground today. I jumped and went a good solid gallop the whole way. When she felt Gordon Lord Byron she picked up, stuck her head out and battled well to the line.

“I'd call the ground good to yielding and maybe a fraction slower but I wouldn't call it yielding yet. There is plenty of juice in it.”
