Oneoveryou (13/8 into 5/4 favourite) has been a tremendous servant for owner/breeder Michael O'Dea and she won her seventh race this evening, in the Event Riders Challenge Race Handicap at Dundalk.
On start two for Richard O'Brien the Tagula mare recorded her greatest ever winning margin as in the hands of Chris Hayes she slammed Doonard Prince by five lengths.
After triumphing at some fancy prices during her time with three previous handlers, this was the shortest price Oneoveryou has ever started at but she more than justified it.
"She looked like she took a step forward from the last day," said O'Brien.
"Chris was delighted with her and just kept it simple. We're very lucky and grateful to have her. Michael and Bridie O'Dea are unbelievably fond of her and will get a great kick out of that.
"She might be capable now of stepping into one of those high value handicaps.
"The Rockingham is there but that's maybe a little bit far away and we might need to find something a bit sooner because she's in a wonderful frame of mind.
"She's very straight-forward to train and if there was something obvious and worthwhile in three weeks time we'll try and find it. We might even travel with her.
"That was a big performance tonight. I couldn't believe after her run the last day that 19 days later there was an 85 handicap and I was like 'this is perfect'.
"There was literally not one thing different to the last time with Chris, drawn one and all the same opponents.
"We just felt as if all our ducks were in a row today and they were, probably more than I expected.
"We put the tongue-tie back on her. The reason I ran her without the last day is that I like to run them all with a blank slate.
"Chris felt she would benefit from it but I don't think you could put it all down to the tongue-tie. She seems to have just naturally come forward."
K.J. Leonard, rider of Doonard Prince trained by Ross O'Sullivan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was badly checked after a furlong.
The Stewards enquired into an incident approaching the bend involving Kindly (GB), ridden by D.W. O'Connor, Oneoveryou, ridden by C.D. Hayes, Plough Boy ridden by W.M. Lordan, Doonard Prince, ridden by K.J. Leonard and Idyllic Acrylic (GB), ridden by J.A. Heffernan, where it appeared that Doonard Prince ran short of room and checked.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that any interference which occurred was accidental in nature and took no further action.
