Due to the change in going Kangaroo Valley was a non-runner and Donnacha O'Brien switched on to Royal Ascot sixth Downdraft to gain an important success in the Listed Lenebane Stakes at Roscommon.
Owned by OTI Racing and trained by O'Brien's brother Joseph, 6/4 favourite Downdraft came forward nicely from his commendable Duke Of Edinburgh Handicap effort.
They were taken along in this four runner event by Masaff but Downdraft got there at his ease to lead over a furlong out.
He did then edge slightly left inside the last before securing a half length verdict over Massif Central
After being confirmed the winner following a steward's enquiry Donnacha O'Brien said: "It went very smooth. My horse relaxed lovely and I knew he had a turn of foot.
"I was happy to keep sitting second off a slow pace and once I asked him to quicken he quickened well.
"I'll leave plans to Joseph but he's a smart little horse and he's versatile. I'm sure Joseph will pick a good option for him."
The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Downdraft, ridden by D.O'Brien, placed first and Massif Central, ridden by C.T. Keane, placed second, where it appeared Downdraft drifted in the closing stages.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action.
