After winning the third on Magnium Robbie Power doubled-up on Neverushacon in the feature at Killarney this afternoon, the Grade B Redweld Stables Handicap Hurdle.

The Jessica Harrington trained bay was available at 7/1 in early shows, touching 5s on-course before going off the 4/1 market leader in the colours of owner David Reid Scott.

A good second to Park Paddocks on his last start at Punchestown, the son of Echo Of Light was in front from early on today.

He was strongly pressed and joined from three out, however he battled back gamely under pressure from the next, regaining the lead before the last, keeping on well from there to score by a length and three parts.

Boherbouy (11/1) ran on well to take second under Mark Walsh for Niall Madden, while Lareena (12s to 10s), who made a costly mistake at the last, was another three lengths back in third under Mark Enright for Willie Mullins.

Kate Harrington said afterwards: "He ran very well at Punchestown on his seasonal reappearance and can go back over fences now and is a great dual purpose type.

"Robert gave him a great ride and dictated it on him and he is an out and out stayer. He is rated a lot higher over fences but could be a Galway Plate or Galway Hurdle horse - we'll see."

Having considered the evidence, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Gran Geste (FR) under the provisions of Rule 90 and fined the trainer E350. The matter was referred to the Chief Executive of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board for further investigation. .

Rachael Blackmore, rider of True Self trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that her mount got tight for room down the back straight but of no consequence.
