Cut The Mustard made all to run out a convincing winner of the two-and-a-half mile maiden hurdle at Punchestown.

The Willie Mullins-trained had proven very disappointing on her Irish debut at Limerick over Christmas but showed improvement when fifth here late last month.

She stepped forward considerably again in today's event to beat the geldings. David Mullins' mount had her rivals at work turning for home.

The French-bred stayed on well when asked to quicken on the run-in and proved six lengths too strong for Catwalk King at the line.

"The extra half-mile made a difference and it was an improved round of jumping although her jumping is still not right,” said Mullins.

"She's a nice improving mare who will be staying at home and could go to Fairyhouse."

9/4 favourite Narcissistic tracked the leader but faded turning for home to finish sixth.
