The fascinating and ongoing duel between Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott for this season's trainers' championship moves to Fairyhouse on Wednesday where the pair are well represented in most of the eight races.
Champion Mullins trails pretender Elliott by €314,000 currently and while this fixture certainly won't settle things, both trainers can be expected to provide winners on the day.
The opening Promote Your Business At Fairyhouse In 2017 Hurdle sees Elliott's recent winner Dakota Moirette tackle a pair of Joseph O'Brien-trained juveniles in Zig Zag and Lord Justice
Half an hour later, Elliott and Mullins do battle in the Online Discounts @ fairyhouse.ie Mares Maiden Hurdle with the Gigginstown House Stud owned Theatre Wine against Supreme Racing Club's Chambord Du Lys
Supreme's Steve Massey said: "The form of her first run (at Limerick) has worked out pretty well, with the winner not beaten far in the Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle.
"We were happy with our mare that day and hopefully she'll improve and go one better. She's a mare we quite like and the step up to two and a half miles should suit her."
The next race sees Mullins introduce French import Tin Soldier in the Next Racing At Fairyhouse Saturday February 4th Maiden Hurdle, where he meets Elliott's Champagne Classic while later in the afternoon, the pair clash in the concluding Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Mares Bumper.
Elliott's Strike Is Back has already shown useful bits of bumper form and takes on Mystic Theatre who makes her debut for Mullins, having won a pair of point-to-points last season when trained by Colin McBratney.
