Emmet Mullins upstaged his cousin Patrick and uncle Willie when the experienced Peacocks Secret got the better of Closutton newcomer Jonnigraig in the September 8th Celebration Race Meeting (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race at Kilbeggan.
Indeed Peacocks Secret was previously part-owned, and ridden by Patrick, but now he runs for the Mee family, and he had Conor Walsh aboard on this occasion.
Jonnigraig travelled better to inside the final quarter mile, but Peacocks Secret had the know how (including around this track) and inner berth to help.
There was a neck between them ultimately, and they left Arch Stanton twelve lengths back in third.
Gambled-on favourite Chesterfield King could manage only fifth.
"It's great to finally get a bumper win out of him. He'd been knocking on the door all summer," said the winning trainer.
"He got very excited in the parade at Galway on ladies day so we just had to draw a line through that run.
"We were disappointed but we're delighted now to finally get a bumper out of him.
"He had good form here earlier in the season and it's just quite important to get the bumper win.
"I thought Conor (Walsh) gave him a great ride. He is a hard worker at home and very good value for his seven pounds claim. I'm delighted to be able to provide him with a winner.
"I'd imagine Peacocks Secret will probably go hurdling now but we'll have a look at what winners bumpers are coming up.
"Listowel next week is a bit too soon, and in three weeks time he'll probably be out again.
"He handles most types of ground and while he's running well we'll keep him going."
