Rachael Blackmore moved to within three winners of Jockeys' Championship leader Paul Townend as the in-form rider steered the Henry De Bromhead trained Chris's Dream to win the Grade 2 Ladbrokes Acca Boosty Ten Up Novice Chase at Navan today.
Blackmore and De Bromhead combined to win the Red Mills Chase at Gowran yesterday with Monalee, which was one of three winners on the day for Blackmore.
Today Blackmore moved to the 80 winner mark for the season, three behind Townend, as Chris's Dream produced a fine staying and jumping performance to beat Champagne Classic by half a length.
Afterwards De Bromhead said “he really toughed it out there which was good to see. Rachael got a great tune out of him and he jumped brilliant, bar maybe the last.
“We just said we wanted to try dropping him in again and see. It seemed to suit him well and he was able to jump his way into it no bother so that was great.
“I'd say you'd have to look at the RSA now. I think he's entitled, I have to speak to the owners and see what they'd like to do but I wouldn't see why not.
“The ground might be my only reason why not — it's as good as he'd want it there today but he was good.”
“I'm delighted to get it for Robcour.”
