Mo Henry ran on strongly to cut down the front-runners in the apprentice handicap over six furlongs in Naas.

He came under pressure towards the rear of the field at the halfway point but responded and moved into mid-division at the two pole.

The five-year-old gelding was ridden by Danny Sheehy and picked up really well in the final furlong to sweep into the lead with 100 yards to race.

He took the spoils by two lengths at 20/1. This made it four winners from the last 17 horses saddled by trainer Adrian Keatley. Molans Mare who was detached in rear of the 14 runners over two furlongs out, flashed home to get up for second at 16/1.

The seven-year-old mare finished a head in front of Shore Step (9/1 to 6/1) and Buttermere (10/1) who dead heated for third.

Adrian Keatley said: "I'm delighted for the little horse that he's won and for his owners that have stuck by him. He keeps collecting his prize money.

"That's around his mark and he acts on the all-weather as well. Danny gets on well with him and gets a tune out of him.

"I don't have anything pencilled in for him in the immediate future but I don't think he will have any problem going up to seven either.

"That kind of race suited him today where they go quick early. You have to try and cover him up and get amongst horses."
