After dead-heating for second over a furlong further yesterday, the locally-trained Mister Wilson (3/1 fav) went one better in the BetVictor Proud To Support Irish Racing Nursery.

The Alhebayeb gelding was bustled along early by Nathan Crosse and soon dictated matters at the head of affairs. Wayward down the straight in yesterday’s contest, that wasn’t the case this time as he asserted two furlongs out and stayed on strongly to defeat Lexi’s Dream (9/2) by three and three quarter lengths.

50/1 outsider Bayou Belle was another four and three quarter lengths away in third while Dahomey who shared second spot with the winner in yesterday’s opener, was never a factor on this occasion and beat only one home.

The winner is trained in nearby Dunamaggin by Paul McEnery for his son Billy who was on lead-up duties and, for good measure, was bred by the pair as well.

It was a 23rd winner of the campaign for 5lb claimer Crosse who had already bettered his previous tally of 19 achieved two years ago.
