Mett upsets the odds in bumper
Well Mett made a successful debut in the Alison Campbell Model Agency-sponsored bumper when getting the better of the odds-on Warwickshire
The well-backed 4/7 favourite made most of the running and looked to have a significant advantage on the downhill approach to the straight.
However Nina Carberry's mount hung badly off the bends and handed the advantage to 9/1 newcomer Well Mett.
“Shark” Hanlon's charge struck the front a furlong out, and was driven out by Rachel Blackmore to score by two lengths. The pair pulled 19 lengths clear of Misty Blue (25/1) in third.
Hanlon said: “He's a pure baby and I'd very little done with him. I thought I'd give him a run and he'd come on for it. He did everything wrong but still won, and will go for a winners bumper.
“Rachel gave him a great ride. I told her to track Nina as she would be out in front.”
This was Blackmore's second winner having enjoyed her initial success at Thurles in February.
