No Trouble (11/2) has struck a rich vein of form and landed the first division of the Byrne Marquees Handicap under Seamie Heffernan.
John McConnell ’s charge had won easily at Dundalk last Friday and was well-in to the tune of 8lb under his mandatory penalty.
The concern was that the three-time polytrack winner had yet to win on turf, but he allayed those fears when making ground steadily from mid-division in the home straight. Leading inside the final furlong, the No Nay Never gelding stayed on well to account for Final Endeavour by a length and three quarters.
It was a the 5-year-old’s first win in 17 starts on turf although he had been placed three times on the grass earlier in the summer.
Heffernan said: "He's got a bit of age to him and if a lot of horses are given a bit of patience and time they eventually come right.
"I'm delighted to be riding this horse for these owners (Cathal McGuckin). They had the patience and they are reaping the rewards.
"He's a mature horse and he has options (polytrack and turf)."
