The well-supported 11/8 favourite Meishar (from 4/1 this morning) made all in the Follow Us On Twitter @DundalkStadium Handicap.
Luke McAteer kept his mount up to his work in the straight to account for 66/1 chance Brushwork by three quarters of a length.
The winner’s stable companion Sister Lola (7/1) kept on from the rear of the field to finish the same distance further back in third.
It was a third win in five visits to Dundalk for the successful 5-year-old who had been caught close home over a furlong further at Laytown last time.
Winning trainer James McAuley said: “The more I see him racing the quicker he seems to be getting. Six is a good trip for him but I’d rather go down to five than be going up to a mile with him. He’s getting keener so he does too much over a mile.
“He’d an ideal draw today and we let him use his stride. He covers some amount of ground.
“His full-sister won the 1,000 Guineas in Argentina.
“We’ll see what the handicapper does and anytime there is a race for him he’ll be kept busy.”
