Maher seen to good effect
The Kilkenny Handicap saw a thrilling finish with Mon Champion just getting the better of Silent Decision close home under a good ride by Keith Maher.
The Montjeu gelding was ridden along to join leaders two furlongs out and responded well to pressure to lead inside the final furlong and deny Silent Decision by half a length.
Winning trainer Pat Flynn said afterwards: "That's great he won, I couldn't believe he was the price he was."
"We'll probably try and pick up something similiar and go for another handicap."
