Eclat De Lumiere looked a filly with a bright future when scoring on her debut in the opening Irish Stallions Farms EBF Maiden at the Curragh this afternoon.

The Dermot Weld-trained filly went to post a 7/2 shot in the seven-furlong contest and travelled noticably well throughout.

Colin Keane asked her to go about her job a furlong from home and she got to the front in the final 100 yards, holding Benitoite late on to secure a half length win in the Moyglare colours.

The daughter of Sea The Stars is a half-sister to Hong Kong Vase winner Dominant and Group 2 winning sire Es Que Love.

“She's a lovely filly. She had been working nicely, she's still a very big immature filly so whether I run her again this year or not is debatable,” said Weld.

“The ground was probably a shade softer than ideal for her, Colin just thought she has plenty of pace.

“If I run her once more again it will be in a stakes race and that will be it, I'll discuss it with her owner Eva Maria Haefner. There is the CL Weld Park Stakes. I wouldn't the ground too soft as she's a very good actioned filly.

“She's a lovely filly for next year. She had the race won from a fair bit out today and is a lovely filly in the making.”
