The Aidan O'Brien-trained Londoner asserted in good style to open his account in the Irish EBF Median Sires Series Maiden at Dundalk.

The Saxon Warrior colt, a son of Prix de l'Abbaye winner Gilt Edge Girl, went to post 2/1 favourite tonight after shaping with promise when fourth on his debut at Navan earlier in the month.

Seamie Heffernan tracked the leaders on the market leader before sending him for home over a furlong out.

Despite drifted to his left Londoner soon put the race to bed and went on to record a four-length win over stablemate Cape Bridgewater who ran on inside the final furlong.

Stable representative Chris Armstrong said: "Seamus gave him a lovely ride and he knew him from his last run in Navan. He appreciated the nicer ground but he still had a lovely run the first day.

"Seamus was very happy with him. He'll be a nice horse for next year and will probably start off at a mile and a quarter.

"He is by the right sire, Saxon Warrior, who is having winners every day. He has a lovely attitude and is a horse to look forward to next year.

"He came on a lot from his first run and when Seamus asked him to go about the business he quickened away nicely.

"The second horse (Cape Bridgewater) ran a lovely race. He has come on a lot from his first run, so they are all going forward nicely."
