Bargain buy Logo Hunter landed the Hollywoodbets Racing & Sports Betting Maiden at Dundalk on his debut for owner Patrick Moyles and trainer Michael Browne.
Bred by Mountarmstrong Stud, and twice placed for his breeders, the O’Callaghans, the successful son of Brazen Beau hadn’t been seen since July and had since joined current connections for 5,000 pounds.
With a first time tongue-strap on, and Seamie Heffernan up, the three-year-old got the better of wandering favourite Devil’s Outlaw by half a length. Logo Hunter rsquo;s former Ger Lyons stable companion Princess Plumeria (100/30 into 2/1) finished two and a half lengths back in third.
“It was a big concern that I thought he wasn't fit enough,” said Browne.
“He'll make a good sprinter, he's easy to train. He had a wind operation and it made an awful difference to him. He'll improve a lot from that.
“I thought he'd make 50 grand at the sales but he wound up only making five.”
