From some way out only Meldrum Lad or Dun Scaith could win the Ferrycarraig (H & G) Maiden Hurdle and the former ultimately proved much the best in Wexford's second.
Harry Kelly employed the services of local man Sean Flanagan for the ride on this Fruits Of Love gelding and he eventually comfortably saw off the aforementioned front-runner Dun Scaith, by four and a half lengths.
Flanagan said: "He had a good run the last day at Gowran and he was expected to improve a little bit for it.
"He handled the ground okay, it is a little bit slower than he would like it but he handled it anyway. Harry is in Bellewstown with another runner." (DM & EM)
